The automated download system is designed for longer-term, large-scale or comparative research projects with the IceQube.
The system enables large data sets to be created without disrupting the animals or farm operations. Where appropriate, accurate heat alerts are generated for the farmer to ensure a profitable relationship for both the farmer and the researcher.
Data is transmitted from the sensor wirelessly every time the animal passes a trigger point in the barn to a local server. The data is then uploaded to the CattleGrid via an internet connection. The CattleGrid is a secure data management and viewing system. Users can the log into the CattleGrid via an internet browser to monitor behaviour from anywhere on a near-realtime basis. The automated download system is compatible with the IceQube sensor.
